It is not known exactly when the first Citroën car arrived in Indonesia. However, in the list of car brands issued in the Dutch East Indies (now: Indonesia) in 1920, there is the Citroën brand, among hundreds of other car brands.
Citroën in Indonesia
In the early 1960s, Citroën branded cars began to be seen passing by on the streets of big cities in Indonesia. One of them is Pallas, Citroën’s top product loaded with the latest technology. At that time, Citroën was mostly entered by individuals, namely diplomats and expatriates. Among them, French engineers who were employed in the Jatiluhur Reservoir Construction Project in Purwakarta, West Java, in 1957-1967.
